This book is not what I expected it to be and that’s a good thing. I thought Sirius Black was going to be another person after Harry Potter’s life and wow was I wrong, but I’m glad. This story has such an interesting twist at the end and it just keeps your head spinning.
It is Harry Potter’s third year at Hogwarts and you can tell that he is beginning to feel a bit more confident and even cocky in his abilities as a wizard. He has already solved chains of mysterious and he just found out he was a wizard just less than 3 years ago.
I love that each book gives you a short summary of what has happened in the previous novels. This was especially important when the novels were first coming out because there was so much space between each book. I truly appreciate the summaries because the books are long and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of every single important event because you know they all mean something to the overall development of the novel. Rowling very rarely has “fluff” or filler in her novels. Everything flows and is just so perfectly described. You forget you are even turning the pages.
I read this one like in 3 days. I just couldn’t stop reading and guessing the coming of the events. In this novel, a convicted killer has escaped the infamous prison of Azkaban. It is rumored that when he escaped he was whispering “He’s at Hogwarts..” Automatically everyone is going crazy because they are sure he is talking about harming Harry Potter. Everyone starts trying to keep Harry safe and never alone. Soon everyone begins to wonder if there is a traitor among them because things are starting to hit a little too close to home. In traditional fashion, Harry, Ron, and Hermione team up to solve this mystery and find out what does Sirius Black want.
So far this is my favorite book from the series. I am already half way through the 4th book: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is also very good but still not as good as the Prisoner of Azkaban, for now. Full review for the 4th book will be up possibly next week.
Have you read the third book of the series ? What did you think? Let me know down below.
