Late Night Poetry

I can’t just write about how you love

me so perfectly

And how my heart only beats

inside of you

Because these veins

 are not strong enough

to keep us living;

 beat by beat

I discover you , sly as a fox

Trying to keep me blinded

You sly little bandit

A thief of my consciousness

And common sense

Had me making

The same mistakes

I vow by

“Never be the one caught and left stumbling”
